ASUS, the renowned hardware and peripheral manufacturer, has introduced two new high-end gaming monitors to its OLED lineup, marking the debut of the world’s first 4K WOLED gaming displays with high refresh rates. Both models feature a dual-mode configuration, allowing users to switch between 4K and FHD resolutions with a single tap. While dual-mode setups are becoming more common in modern monitors, these may be the first 4K WOLED variants to offer the feature.
These monitors deliver a premium gaming experience, thanks to their WOLED panels, which produce deeper blacks even in bright environments. The first model, ROG Strix XG32UCWMG, boasts impressive specifications, up to 240Hz at 4K resolution and up to 480Hz at 1080p, ensuring smooth gameplay across resolutions while maintaining exceptional image quality and competitive performance.
The second model, ROG Strix XG32UCWG, serves as a more affordable alternative. It retains the same 31.5-inch WOLED screen with both 4K and 1080p modes but offers a refresh rate of up to 165Hz at 4K and up to 330Hz at FHD. Still ideal for competitive and immersive gaming, the XG32UCWG is among the first WOLED monitors to achieve outstanding colour reproduction and accuracy with Delta E < 2. Both monitors support HDR10 and deliver true 10-bit colour depth for enhanced visual fidelity.
Apart from minor differences, the monitors share most specifications and an identical design, featuring slim bezels and ergonomic stands with versatile adjustment options. The inclusion of TrueBlack Glossy film helps maintain rich blacks while reducing glare, further improving clarity. ASUS also claims these monitors have a 45% smaller footprint than their predecessors, saving desk space without sacrificing ergonomic flexibility.
Additional features include the DisplayWidget Center software for custom modes, an Auto KVM function for quick device switching with a single keyboard and mouse, HDMI 2.1 connectivity, and a USB-C port with DP Alt Mode. There is also a USB hub with three USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports for peripherals. However, the DisplayPort remains at version 1.4.
Pricing details have not yet been announced, but ASUS is expected to reveal them soon.
